Here's something you don't see every day !! Its a unique lamp that we have made from a Raydel Engineering Control panel which we think came from a tractor or piece of earthmoving equipment.  It has fantastic wear to the sloping rear back and sides and some really nice instrument gauges. It's a real industrial piece that would look great in a home, office or business setting.
 
To start the design of this light we stripped and cleaned the control panel and then clear coated it inside and out to seal in the finish. We made a custom bracket so it floats above the base. The base was salvaged from a 100+ year old barn that was demolished last year. Its a lovely piece of wood with fantastic ageing. We gave it two coats of Georgian medium oak danish oil and then hand polished it with fiddles wax.
 
The metalwork for the lamp was fabricated from industrial steel piping. This has also been clear coated to protect the finish.  For the light itself we used an antique style E27 bulb holder which has been powder coated in satin black. This supports the vintage style cage which has stunning brass bolt fixings.
 
The lamp was professionally wired with 1.5m of period styled vintage cable . There is a vintage style switch fitted to the console. The lamp is lit with an Edison 40w Squirrel Cage Incandescent Bulb. It looks fantastic when lit with the filament clearly visible.
