This incredible desk / table lamp is not only a fully functional lamp but also a stunning unique piece of unique art.
 
This amazing lamp was created by British metalworking artist Chris Walton
 
Meet Brian, a unique one of a kind found object robot.  The inspiration for this lamp started with a 1940’s Kelvin Norton vehicle inspection lamp (Made in Warrington  ). It was the perfect shape for Brian’s head.  His main body is a vintage GEC electrical isolation switch and he has springs and feet from an antique pioneer clothes mangle. His base came from an old woodworking lathe and to complete him we added vintage brass taps for his hands.  The head can be adjusted which allows you to change his mood  . The main body can be opened to display the artists signature and it also makes a good place to store valuables. The lamp is wired with contrasting red period correct braided cable and it has been PAT tested for electrical safety.

A little about the artist. 
 
Chris was born in Preston in 1967.  He is a retired Polymer Scientist and now creates unique lighting and artworks from his studio in in Penwortham, Preston. He draws on his experiences of living and working in Africa (where he grew up) and the USA. He has been featured in Reclaim Magazine and is an advocate for reusing and repurposing items to create unique items that are built to last !
