Up for sale is a stunning EDL machinists lamp.  This was made in the UK in the 1950's.  It has had a partial restoration and a base fabricated for it. 
 
We decide on a partial restoration on this rather than a full restoration as it has some fantastic age related patina.  Firstly we gave the lamp a good clean and then the finish was then sealed using a high quality clear lacquer. There was no base when we acquired this lamp so we fabricated a new base. The base was fabricated using a large vintage gear wheel. Its patina matches the lamp really well. 
 
The lamp swivels around the base and it articulates at the mid point and the head of the lamp. 
 
We were able to re-use the original bulb holder as it was in great condition and good quality. 
 
The lamp was professionally re-wired with period correct braided 3 core vintage cable. We chose red cable as it contrasts well with the black of the lamp.  The cable is a generous 1.5 metres long and we fitted an inline switch and plug.  All of the metal parts on the lamp are correctly earthed and the lamp has been PAT tested. This lamp is finished with an Edison filament LED bulb. This gives a beautiful white light with the filament clearly visible when in use. 
 
This is not just a beautiful lamp but a great and unique piece of art that is guaranteed to be a conversation piece for years to come! Do not miss this one !!
 
This is a lovely sized little lamp its perfect for a desk or shelf. Unlike the much bigger heavier machinist lamps.
