This incredible desk / table lamp is not only a fully functional lamp but also a stunning piece of art.This is a converted medical heat lamp originally made in the 1950s by English manufactures Barber. These are extremely rare now as they were only available on prescription and not available for general sale. It has a fantastic atomic age mid-century style that’s unique to the period.
When we acquired the lamp it had been hand painted green by some one. Probably happened in the 70's where green was the in colour lol. We couldnt leave it like that so we stripped all the paint off. We were going to repaint it in one of the original colours but when stripped and polished it just looked too good to cover up. We decided to keep the polished finish and gave it 3 coats of clear coat to prevent it from tarnishing. It looks fabulous !
This lamp has been re-wired with the original style period white and black braided cable. The lamp has a generous 1.5mtr power cable. All of our lamps are professionally wired, fully earthed and PAT tested .
The light comes with a T45 LED Radio Valve bulb. This gives a beautiful white light from the front . When lit the light looks stunning and the rings of the shroud look amazing. The photos really don't do it any justice at all.
The dome on this Lamp can be angled from straight up to virtually straight down. This means you can use it for virtually any type of lighting, Up lighting down lighting , corner lighting or general mood lighting.
This is not just beautiful light but a great piece of mid century art that is guaranteed to be a conversation piece for years to come !
The lamp is in good overall condition with some minor dents on the rear of the dome. Not bad for a 70+ year old lamp.
