We restore a lot of vintage inspection lamps and this has to be one of the nicest ones we have ever done.
 
It’s a 1940's British military explosion proof caged inspection lamp.
 
The lamp had 80 years of grime on it when we acquired it so it went through an extensive cleaning and restoration. All of the aluminium parts were sandblasted, polished and clear coated.  The cage was sandblasted, polished and clear coated. The cage had some fantastic wire repairs over the years and we decided to leave these as they add so much character to the lamp. The cage also has some distortion to it, but again we decided to leave this in as they show the journey this lamp has been on. The glass is in good condition but it does have a ring around it thats dulled slightly. Now that it has been restored the lamp looks fantastic !!
 
The lamp was fully re-wired using 1.5 m of period correct black vintage braided cable. There is also an inline on and off switch and a UK 3 pin plug. The lamp is earthed for electrical safety and it has been PAT tested. The lamp has a vintage style squirrel cage incandescent bulb.
The lamp has a hanging hook so it can be hung. It also looks great led on its side.
