The starting piece for this lamp was a 1930's Governor Blow Lamp. Governor blow lamps we made by John Shaw & Sons Ltd of Wolverhampton. They made a wide range of tools, blow lamps and gas stoves from the mid 1800's up to the 1960's.

To start the restoration the lamp was sympathetically cleaned and restored to expose the true beauty of the piece. To do this we lightly cleaned and polished the main body of the blow torch. The strap and handle were professionally powder coated in the original red and black colour..

The end of the blow torch was then adapted to accept a vintage brass effect light fitting. This was professionally wired with period correct braided 3 core vintage cable. The cable is a generous 1.5 metres long and is fitted with an inline switch and 3 pin fused plug.

To put the finishing touches to the light we have used a smoked T150 E27 screw fitting Edison incandescent Light Bulb (included). This gives a beautiful warm white light

When lit the light looks like a science fiction ray gun; truly spectacular. The photos really don't do it any justice at all.

This is not just beautiful light but a great piece of art that is guaranteed to be a conversation piece for years to come!

This lamp has the following dimensions:
