We sell a lot of inspection lamps and this is a really nice one. It’s an early 20th century turned wooden candle shaped handled lamp. 
 
The patina on the handle was amazing when we recieved it so we gave it a good degreasing  and then it was treated with danish oild to highlight the grain. Finally we gave the handle 3 coats of Fides antique oak wax and a gentle polish. It looks great !!.
 
All of the metalwork was lightly sand blasted and then polished and clear coated. Becuase this wasn't healiy polished it retains its age related patination.
 
This inspection lamp was originally designed for 12v . To make it more usable in the home we sympathetically replaced the bulb holder with a 240v E14 holder.  The holder was lightly sanded to give the appearance of old bakelite.    The match is so good you would never know its been upgraded.
 
The light was then professionally rewired with period correct braided cable. The lamp has a generous 1.5 mtr power cable. The cage of the lamp is correctly earthed and it has been PAT tested for electrical safety. The light comes with a Vintage Edison LED filament bulb.
 
This style of lamp is excellent when used to light a corner of a room or a piece of art. Vintage inspection lamps are always popular as they can be used virtually anywhere in the home or Garage.
 
When lit the light looks stunning as it casts the most amazing shadows. The photos really don't do it any justice at all.This is not just beautiful light but a great piece of early 20th century art that is guaranteed to be a conversation piece for years to come!
