This incredible desk / table lamp is not only a fully functional lamp but also a stunning piece of art.

The starting piece for this lamp was a 1950's Bialaddin 310 paraffin lantern. This Lantern has really seen life and its picked up a couple of scars along the way. It has so much character and the patina on the top cover was so cool we decided not to do a full restoration this time. Making this look new would have been a crime as it looks amazing with all of it's battle scars.

The tank was in great shape with just one minor dent. We gave it a gentle polish and then clear coated it to protect the finish.

The top cover is a work of art on its own it has the amazing bright green through to black as the metal has tarnished with age. The top cover was cleaned and then clear powder coated to protect the patina.

The glass is immaculate and the bulb is retained inside it nicely. In fact, after the conversion you would never know it wasn't always meant to be an electric lamp.

The centre of the lamp was then adapted to accept an antique style light fitting. This was professionally wired with period correct braided 3 core vintage cable. The cable is a generous 1.5 metres long and is fitted with an inline switch and 3 pin fused plug.

To put the finishing touches to the light we have used a smoked E27 screw fitting Edison Radio Tube style Light Bulb (included). This gives a beautiful soft white light and the filament is clearly seen.

When lit the light looks amazing, casting great shadows as the light bulb glows through the original glass. The photos really don't do it any justice at all.

The light is very versatile and can either be used on a side table or it can be hung from its carrying handle.

This is not just beautiful light but a great piece of art that is guaranteed to be a conversation piece for years to come!
